Itinerary
The trip starts from Guwahati airport. Arrive till 10 AM, then depart from Guwahati to Shillong. Enjoy delicacies of the North East at a decent restaurant on the way. Next, we immerse ourselves in the tranquility of Umiam Lake and the charming Wards Lake, if time allows. As the sun sets, we make our way to the heart of Shillong, the vibrant Police Bazaar, where our hotel awaits. The evening offers a chance to savor the local delicacies and experience the vibrant nightlife. A night of restful slumber in Shillong follows.
Today, we set off to witness the wonders of Meghalaya. Cascading down like jewels, we first encounter the mesmerizing Phe Phe Waterfall and the ethereal Krangsuri Falls, inviting us to bathe and swim in their turquoise waters. Crossing the Dawki River on a hanging bridge, we glimpse the beauty of the Umgot River and even catch a glimpse of the Bangladesh border. If time permits, we marvel at the Living Root Bridge, a true marvel of natural engineering. Tonight, we find our haven in the picturesque Mawlynnong Village.
A day of awe and wonder awaits as we explore the splendid sights of Meghalaya. Admire the Mawkdok Bridge and its breathtaking viewpoint, followed by a refreshing dip in the natural swimming pool. Venture into the mystic depths of the Mawsmai and Arwah Caves, and gaze in awe at the majestic Nohkalikai and Seven Sister Waterfalls. Our journey then leads us to Cherrapunjee, where we find comfort in our hotel as we rest for the night.
Today, we embark on an adventurous trek to discover the single and double decker Root Bridges, crossing hanging bridges and immersing ourselves in nature's marvels. The pristine Blue Lagoon and the captivating Rainbow Falls add to the allure of our trek. The journey may be challenging, with thousands of steps to conquer, but the rewards are unparalleled. We retire for the night in Cherrapunjee, filled with unforgettable memories.
Delve deeper into the mysteries of Meghalaya as we explore the sacred Mawphlong Forest. Guided by a knowledgeable expert, we learn about the forest's storied past, the variety of plants, and the significance of the Rudraksh tree. Our adventure continues with visits to the awe-inspiring Elephant Falls, the intriguing Airforce Museum, and the scenic Shillong Peak View Point, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. We return to Shillong for a restful night.
