Leave East Iceland and continue north towards one of Iceland's most fascinating volcanic regions.

The journey takes you through changing landscapes — from dramatic fjords and mountains to wide-open volcanic terrain.

The East Fjords are all about winding roads, mountains rising from the sea, tiny fishing villages and spectacular viewpoints.

There is no need to rush today.

Stop at scenic viewpoints, enjoy a relaxed lunch and experience a side of Iceland that many visitors miss.

As you move north, the landscape gradually changes from coastal mountains to volcanic terrain.

Arrive in the Lake Mývatn region by afternoon/evening.

Day mood: Peaceful • Volcanic • Scenic • Offbeat Iceland

Today combines some of the most memorable experiences of North Iceland.

Begin the morning exploring the surroundings of Lake Mývatn.

The region is known for lava formations, volcanic craters, geothermal activity and wide-open landscapes.

Then slow things down with a relaxing geothermal experience.

EARTH LAGOON MÝVATN

Step into warm, mineral-rich geothermal waters surrounded by Iceland's volcanic landscape.

The geothermal experience is the perfect way to relax after several days on the road.

Enjoy the warm waters and steam bath while taking in the peaceful surroundings.

After your geothermal experience, continue towards Húsavík.

HÚSAVÍK — WHALE WATCHING

Drive to Húsavík, one of Iceland's best-known whale-watching towns.

Board a whale-watching cruise and head into Skjálfandi Bay in search of Iceland's marine wildlife.

Depending on the season and conditions, sightings can include humpback whales, minke whales, dolphins and a variety of seabirds.

No two cruises are exactly alike — which is part of the adventure.

After returning to shore, continue towards Goðafoss.

GOÐAFOSS — WATERFALL OF THE GODS

Stop at the spectacular Goðafoss, one of North Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls.

Take a short walk to the viewpoints and enjoy the powerful cascade before continuing towards Akureyri.

AKUREYRI

Enjoy a relaxed evening exploring the town, its cafés, shops and waterfront.

Overnight: Akureyri

Driving: Approximately 150–180 km, excluding local sightseeing

Day mood: Wellness • Wildlife • Waterfalls • Northern Iceland

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before beginning the final drive towards Reykjavík.

Today's journey takes you through the changing landscapes of northern and western Iceland.

Rather than filling the day with too many attractions, we keep the final road-trip day relaxed, with time for scenic viewpoints, coffee stops, photographs and spontaneous discoveries.

Arrive in Reykjavík by afternoon or early evening.

YOUR FINAL EVENING IN ICELAND

Check into your Reykjavík hotel and enjoy your final evening at your own pace.

Take a relaxed walk through the city centre, explore the colourful streets, visit the harbour or enjoy a farewell Icelandic dinner.

Having the final night in Reykjavík means you don't have to combine a long road journey with your international departure.

Overnight: Reykjavík

Driving: Approximately 380–400 km, depending on route and stops

Day mood: Scenic • Relaxed • City • Farewell Iceland

Enjoy your final Icelandic breakfast before checking out.

Depending on your international flight timing, you can either head directly towards Keflavík International Airport or make your final day even more special with an optional Blue Lagoon experience.

OPTIONAL BLUE LAGOON EXPERIENCE

If you have a later flight, take the opportunity to visit Iceland's world-famous Blue Lagoon, located conveniently between Reykjavík and Keflavík Airport.

Relax in the warm geothermal waters, surrounded by the dramatic volcanic landscape, and enjoy one last Icelandic wellness experience before your journey home. This is an optional experience and can be added depending on your flight schedule and availability.

After the Blue Lagoon experience, continue to Keflavík International Airport for your onward flight.

END OF THE JOURNEY

Take home more than photographs — take home the feeling of travelling through a country where glaciers, volcanoes, waterfalls, whales and geothermal waters exist side by side.
